Didn’t finish a Submission in Time for this week…

I got caught up reading Sabriel this week.  Time I should have spent illustrating I spent reading the damn book.  I have a drawing started, it’ll just have to be two for next week’s picturethisbook

This is what I had done so far-

I was going to try and tie the paperwing into this thing and make it a submission for this week, but that wasn’t really what I wanted to go for.  I really want to do the last image in chapter 12 when Mogget drops the candle in Sabriel’s lap, but I’ve had a hard time figuring out the composition to get what I want done.

We’ll just have to see how things turn out this week~

“‘I have a variety of names,’ replied the cat.  It had a strange voice, half-mew, half-purr, with hissing on the vowels.  ’You may call me Mogget.  As to what I am, I was once many things, now I am only several.  Primarily, I am a servant of Abhorsen.  Unless you would be kind enough to remove my collar?’”  welp.  This was me trying to do a bunch of different things and them not quite working.  I had a hard time selecting a passage this week, so decided to just do a Mogget portrait… for picturethisbook
